If you're looking to lighten your kit but aren’t sure which palette to choose, start by asking yourself: What products do I want to depot? How many shades, and how much of each shade do you need? There's no one-size-fits-all answer, but a few key considerations can help you decide.
Lipsticks
For lipsticks, you can depot an entire bullet (on average) into each well of a Tahiti (24 wells) or Rio (48 wells). This means less frequent refills, saving you from the hassle of repeating the depotting process. A Tahiti palette is about the size of your hand and holds up to 24 shades of lipstick. If you need more capacity, the Rio is double the upgrade.

Pro tip: Storing foundations
Instead of lugging 50 bottles, use 10-20 wells of the Tahiti or Rio palette for your primary foundations. If neccessary, you can mix and match to create the shades you left behind on the fly. The remaining wells are perfect for storing color correctors like tangerine, mustard, pink, or yellow shades, offering you versatile options without the added bulk.
Cream Products
For cream products like foundations, blushes, bronzers, and concealers, King Jack (24 wells), Viking Jack (12 wells), or Mango (12 wells) are ideal. These palettes have larger wells to fit the majority of your product, making them perfect for depotting sticks, creams, and multi-use products.
